Black Friday quote
11/26/2009 -- Black Friday quote
Today we just want to share this quote, which happens to be on our calendar exactly today - the day before we all (?) rush to the shopping centers to buy all these oh-so-cheap miracles of technology. Here it goes:
"If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them more than the miracles of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it." (Lyndon B. Johnson)

Wait a minute - did he say "a glimpse"? That dangerously sounds like why I started this site at all: "we do not need wild polar bears - they are sufficient to have in zoos" (see FAQ page). Is this what's meant with "glimpse"?! A "pars pro toto" so to speak? No, this would *not* be sufficient. The functioning Whole is needed, "toto"! :)

And besides, you did not buy any stuff today just because it's cheap, did you?
